web site promotion - search engine placement

Google is the Best Search Engine

<!--Grandma always told me that the past is the only teacher we need, and this review of Google.com suggests that this adage is especially true when it comes to search engines.-->

Remember the good-old days of the Web, when Yahoo! was just a search engine? The page consisted primarily of a logo and a search field with a button next to it. And it worked! There were no ads, no millions of links to news and clubs and chat and all that — no sports scores, no paid placement, just a search engine.

And it seemed to work better back then. Well, the good-old days are back.

Google.com, is a simple search engine that seems to have a knack for filtering out all the crapola and giving you exactly what you want. It's been up for a little over a year, and everybody and their brother has written about it... except me. Well, I'll admit, I'm a little slow on the uptake, but when I see something this good, I've just got to share it, even at the risk of looking like a complete idiot for not noticing it sooner.

This from the Google Web site: "Google, which is headquartered in Mountain View, Calif., was founded in 1998 by two Stanford Ph.D. students, Larry Page and Sergey Brin, who now serve as chief ex-ecutive officer and president, respec-tively. The privately held company an-nounced in June 1999 that it had secured $25 million in equity funding led by Sequoia Capital and Kleiner Perkins Caufield & Byers. Other investors include Stanford University; Andy Bechtolsheim, co-founder of Sun Microsystems and current vice president at Cisco Systems; and Ram Shriram, who has held the positions of president of Junglee and vice president of Business Development at Amazon.com."

See all those names? Those are guys a lot smarter than me, who know a good thing when they see it. They aren't afraid to put their money where their mouth is.

web site promotion -search engine placementLet us examine your web site's potential!  The vast majority of web site designers, do just that . . . design good sites.  Often they do little, if any, real url promotion (usually just submission and basic meta tags).
