I liked this software so much; I started using it not only on my own Twitter account, but also for a few real estate agents. If you think about it, this is the perfect tool for real estate pros! The beauty of this software is that it enables you to follow others based on key phrases in their profiles or tweets. Plus, it lets you target Twitters by location. You input the city/town name and select 10, 25, 50 or 100 miles. The software then collects Twitter addresses in that area.
Most real estate activity occurs within 10 miles of the real estate office. By building a list of followers around your office, you are creating name awareness and when the need arises, there is a high probability they will contact that local real estate pro who has been keeping them informed about local real estate market conditions.
Targeted Twitter followers are the key, but I would suggest you link your blog to Twitter to provide the useful info. There are lots of free ways to accomplish this. One of my San Diego Realtors has his WordPress blog set-up so that every blog post title is automatically set up as a new Tweet; each blog is also sent to his Facebook account. Currently, Bob has over 1,780 targeted followers!
Here is what one of Bob’s automatic blog headline to Twitter looks like: Just updated a post on my San Diego real estate blog: San Diego Real Estate Prices – A Mixed Bag (http://cli.gs/Ya5m5)
By generating more blog visitors, Bob’s search engine standings increased. Google and other major search engines can determine a blogs/website traffic as well as how long visitors stay on a site. If traffic is coming from Twitter because the headline of a blog post is intriguing, they will most likely read the entire post and therefore stay on your site longer than the competition.
For the skeptics, look at Bob’s Twitter traffic graph below:

A lot of people are using software just like this to build their followings. This is nothing new.
I would like to point out on that the image above shows 1,301 followers and 2,000 following. Anyone or any software can follow tons of people to get followbacks. That’s really not the point to twitter OR social media in general.
I’ve found that building a quality following is more effective in getting traffic to your site. What’s the use of 2,000 followers if none of them click your links?

Post on blogs, forums, social networking sites, video sites, there are tons of ways. Just throw links to your site all over the place. Sooner or later it will help your search engine ranking and you will get more search engine traffic. Also make sure your site is search engine optimized.

The most effective way to get free targeted visitors to your domain name is by writing and submitting articles. You can write short articles on the topic related to the product that you promote. At the end of the article, you include your author bio and your domain name link.

Getting traffic is a combination of a lot of things. The key to success is to create great content that visitors want to use, search engines will love and other websites will naturally link to. Of course, it’s easier said than done.

I couldn’t agree more. Generating traffic for free begins with creating articles and blogs.

Jonathan makes a good point. But, with software you are able to target Twitter users within a few miles of your service area. So, it’s like taking an ad in the neighborhood newspaper …. you are going for exposure! In real estate, it’s a numbers game.
Sure you can build followers on a one to one basis, but this system lets you do both, if that is what you desire.
The bottom line, is that in just a few weeks of running this software, this blog has seen a nice pickup in both readers and subscribers.

This seems like a valuable tool for realtors. A full-featured, must-have tool for marketing any property.

I never thought of taking advantage of Twitter as a marketing resource. Smart!
